OUR MISSION

TO CONNECT THE LIVES OF

TRAGICALLY IMPACTED

COMMUNITIES WITH RESPECT,

DIGNITY, AND INCLUSIVENESS

USING THE HEALING POWER OF

LAUGHTER

April is Canada's National Humour Month!

... and with the Comedy for Communities International Headquarters located in Alberta we thought we would celebrate!

We are bringing you two workshops from a couple of our C4C Int'l Members. These workshops are sure to have you celebrating the power of laughter, relieving some stress and tension in engaging and fun-filled Sundays this April.

The workshops are by donation, with a recommended donation of $5

Your donation will help C4C Int'l achieve our vision of uplifting communities that have undergone hardship, bring more workshops to the world, and get even closer to heading our into the International Community to help people everywhere

'find the funny'.

Laughter Yoga

Online Workshop with Fanny Rire

Sunday, April 25th 11 AM - 12 PM MST

By Donation (recommended $5)

Please register by April 23rd to secure your spot.

We are hosting a second workshop for you all on Sunday, April 25th! Get ready for Laughter Yoga - a place where you can stretch and laugh the stress away. Hosted by C4C Int'l Member Fanny Rire, this online practice is sure to have you feeling refreshed and ready to take on the week ahead.

In Mumbai (India), Dr. Kataria and his wife Madhuri created techniques mixing warm-up, stretching, breathing and playful exercises to stimulate laughter; giving way to the birth of Laughter Yoga® (Hasya Yoga), which means "laughing without reason".

How does a session run?

A few minutes of warm-up, then playful laughter exercises, laughter meditation, a few minutes of relaxation, and finally a discussion about your feelings during the session.

Be careful. This practice cannot substitute a medical consultation in case of physical, mental or psychological disease. So don’t hesitate to consult your doctor if needed.

The concept is non-political, non-religious, non-racial, non-threatening and non-competitive. You are there to reconnect with your childhood heart and take advantage of the benefits of laughter.

A bit about us...

Comedy for Communities' way of doing business is simple and has a massive impact. We are performers that come in at the rebuilding stage after a tragedy. Our organization elevates as a 'second wave'; we are the after-aftermath and, through laughter, are there to uplift communities with a continuance of hope and support.

All of our projects are carefully constructed and designed to be accessible and effective. They are a blend of short-term relief and longer-term sustainable interventions. This focused approach means we can elevate lives immediately and improve homely relations in the coming days and weeks ultimately transforming communities for years to come.

WHAT WE DO

We support communities through performances and workshops as a second wave of laughter, coming in after emergency services and supports have pulled out, when the media does not report on the people any longer.

We support those rebuilding lives after disaster. When people are feeling forgotten, we assist with the intention of celebrating hope,

trust and community.

We provide a collective emotional breath with the communities, connecting and encouraging a continuance of community connection.
